Every Buddy is made from 100% food-grade silicone with a soft-touch, smooth finish. It does not stain, it does not hold smells, and there is nothing in it you would rather keep away from a mouth. Safety is designed in rather than added on: rounded edges, no small detachable parts on the Essentials range, and a suction base that keeps the plate on the table instead of on the floor.

Bobaby sets are designed for 9 months and up — the moment self-feeding usually starts. The sections, the weight and the depth of each compartment are sized for little hands learning to pick food up on their own, and the colours and shapes are there to grow motor skills and colour recognition along the way. They are also microwave safe for reheating, and can be sterilised in boiling water. Skip abrasive scourers; they are not needed and they dull the finish.

Essentials is a one-piece body with a suction base, a sealed lid and a spork — simpler, lighter, slightly smaller, and made for the everyday plate you reach for twice a day. Premium is the multi-part build: five sealed sections on Snack, three plus spork storage on Meal, the purée tub and the quick-snap hinge. Same four Buddies, same safety standards, different jobs.
