Meet the Buddies

Four characters, four ways of getting through a meal. Every Buddy comes as a snack box and as a meal set, from nine months — the child picks the friend, you pick the format.

The light-blue Snail Buddy, with the animal body as the mat and the shell as the bowl

Snail

“Slow down — we will get there.”

The calm one. The Snail takes the long way round and does not mind who arrives first, which happens to be exactly the pace a first meal needs. Its shell is the bowl, its body is the mat, and the whole thing sits down on the table and stays there.

The pink Butterfly Buddy with its wings open around the bowl

Butterfly

“Try one new thing today.”

The curious one. Wings open, the Butterfly is the Buddy that tries the new food first. Its sections are small decisions a child gets to make on their own, and the antennae are the first thing a baby reaches for — which is how a plate stops being a plate.

The green Turtle Buddy with flippers either side of the bowl

Turtle

“Carry your home. And your lunch.”

The steady one. The Turtle carries everything on its back and never rushes a meal. The flippers make good handles for small hands, the shell holds the sections that keep the purée away from the crackers, and the whole thing comes home from nursery in one piece.

The red Ladybug Buddy with its six grey legs around the bowl

Ladybug

“Good things come in small bites.”

The bold one. Red, round and impossible to lose at the bottom of a bag, the Ladybug is the Buddy that goes everywhere and comes back. Six little legs hold on to the table; the lid clicks shut over whatever is left for later.

Two ways to meet them

Why a character

Children do not bond with a bowl. They bond with a friend.

And a friend at the table is the fastest way we know to end the daily standoff.

Butterfly, in the park. The one who tries the new thing first — and finishes it sitting on a bench.

Turtle, on the way home. Carried on a lap, lids clicking open one at a time.

Ladybug, at the table. Red, round, and the first thing she looks for at snack time.

Choosing a buddy

Choosing between the four

Colours, characters, prices and the one question every parent asks before the first Buddy arrives.

Which Buddy should I choose?

Let the child choose. The four are the same product underneath — same sections, same lids, same suction base — so there is no wrong answer on features. In our experience the animal is what brings them back to the table, and by the second day it has a name.

Do the four characters have different features?

No. Snail, Butterfly, Turtle and Ladybug differ only in the colourway and the silhouette. Every one of them comes as a Snack Buddy and as a Meal Buddy, with the same sections and the same lids.

What colour is each one?

Snail is light blue, Butterfly is pink, Turtle is green and Ladybug is red. The colour is pigment through the silicone rather than a coating on top, so there is nothing to chip, peel or fade.

Can I mix characters in one order?

Yes. The two- and three-piece packs let you pick a different Buddy for each slot, which is what most families do when the second one arrives.

Are they all the same price?

Yes. Every Snack Buddy is $29.95 and every Meal Buddy is $34.95, whichever character you pick.

What age are the Buddies for?

Nine months and up, across all four. That is when most babies start handling food themselves — see materials & safety for the full age grading and the test file.

The Buddies

Four characters, one piece of silicone

01

Four characters

The Bobaby Buddies are four animal-shaped feeding sets for babies from nine months: a Snail in light blue, a Butterfly in pink, a Turtle in green and a Ladybug in red. Each one is moulded from 100% food-grade silicone, and each one exists twice — as a portable snack box for the bag and as a meal set for the table, both on a suction base.

02

The same engineering underneath

Underneath the characters the engineering is identical. The same sections, the same leak-resistance lids with their O-ring seals, the same base that holds on to a high-chair tray, the same trip through the dishwasher. What changes is the animal — and the animal is the part a child chooses. A toddler who picked the turtle asks for the turtle, which is why the second Buddy usually arrives long before the first one wears out.

Where to start

Start from the character on Snail, Butterfly, Turtle or Ladybug, or from the format on Snack Buddies and Meal Buddies. All sixteen references are on Shop all, and the materials, certifications and test file live on materials & safety.

Find your Buddy

Let them choose the animal. The sections, the lids and the suction base are the same in all four — the character is the part that makes them come back to the table.
